Choosing Names for Twins or Multiples
Picking the perfect name for a new baby can be tough, choosing two, three or more can be a major feat. Naming twins (or triplets, or quads ....) has it's own unique challenges beyond just choosing a great name that both parents can agree on. Do you want them to go together? What about special meanings? Can you make one a Jr? If you don't know the gender of your twins you need to have four ready just-in-case.
Here are just a few tips that you might find useful and some links to other sites on the topic.

Rhyming names might sound cute when they are little, especially for identical twins. Consider what they will sound like as they grow. Will it sound Ok, when they are called up for their High School diplomas? When they open their own law practice together? Some might still work, you might want to reconsider others.

Nicknames can rhyme even when the chosen names don't. For instance Nathaniel and Matthew might end up being "Matt and Nat". Or maybe you wanted rhyming names and now you have nicknames that don't sound well together.

Alliteration is another way to go. This isn't just for twins and multiples. It isn't uncommon for families to choose names for everyone beginning with the same letter. (James, Jill, Jason, Janet, Justin etc...) This seems to be very common with twins though. Mike and Matt, Natalie and Nicole, Keith and Kim etc... If you already have one name picked out this might help you choose a second name. (Or three more if you don't know the gender of your twins.)

Ambigendrous (gender neural) names are becoming increasingly popular. If you have boy/girl twins this could be even more interesting (or confusing). However, be aware that once a gender-neutral name becomes popular for girls, it tends to become a girls name.

One name in the feminine and masculine for each baby (Alexander and Alexandria, ) is often seen in movie twins, but I don't know if this is ever done in real life. There are a bunch of these types of names. Look at Victorian name books if you want to go this way.
